Bush Domestic Policy: Coalition of the killing

Observations from the Edge
Robert T. Nanninga
Earth First Journal
January 27, 2003

"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government." — Edward Abbey

The mainstream media is doing a great job beating the drums of war for the Bush Administration. No longer involved win the business of journalism, multinational media conglomerates are engaged instead practicing the ancient art of smoke and mirrors. They are also stumbling over themselves to distant themselves from the Bush Administrations war on the environment.

And make no mistake about the George W. Bush is not the idiot he wants everyone to think he is - far from it. Hardly the brain-dead puppet his detractors paint him to be, El Presidente Bush is a cold and calculating son of privilege tasked with the systematic dismantling of environmental policy, 30 years in the making. Making this anti environmental jihad that much easier is that unpopular truth of the bloodless coup that ensconced him, and his dad's cronies, in the oval office.

Almost from day one the assault on biological systems has gone unchallenged by the media and most Americans. From foreign policy that puts extractive industries in the driver's seat, to domestic policy that allows polluters to police themselves, George the II will go down in history as the man most responsible for the demise of hope. And with the passing of each day, the charges against the Corporate Criminal in Chief continue to accumulate.
